Horse Rescue Volunteers Recognized at Equine Rescue and Adoption Foundation
January 29, 2018
Volunteers are an essential asset to non-profit organizations. Without the help of these men, women, and teenagers and their gift of time and talent, the work of the Equine Rescue and Adoption Foundation would be overwhelming for the small staff and board of directors. The mission of the rescue, care, feeding and rehabilitation of 40 plus horses on 17 acres requires many hands and hearts. One amazing fact to consider: approximately 480 piles of manure are created every day or 450,000 lbs. annually.
The board of directors hosted a volunteer appreciation luncheon at the ERAF community center on Saturday, January 27 giving special acknowledgement to the volunteers who assist with the many jobs and responsibilities at the barn and property.
Honorable mentions were given out to volunteers who worked 100-150 hours and certificates of recognition were given to volunteers who donated over 150 hours.
Lynn O’Brien and Rae Cimorelli, age 11, were awarded Certificates of Excellence for their volunteerism in excess of 300 hours.
Stephan and Vickie Ambrosch were added to the Advisory Board. They bring with them a wealth of experience from the corporate world to assist ERAF with their many needs.
Honorable mention winners: John Alvino, Janet Losavio, Brian Marshall, Brenda Weissing, Shaelan Morley, Gabrielle Alvino, Wendy Oleson, Claudia Lopez, Jackie Kuick, Marianne Penello, Judy Combs, Sue Rowley
