Yes they do! Horses have the ability to sleep standing up due to a stay apparatus. This is a system of tendons and ligaments which keep them upright. However, when they require REM sleep they do sleep laying down.
My friends say that it's too expensive to own a horse. Is it?
While owning a horse is not for everyone, it really depends on your situation and the needs of the horse.
How long a process is it to adopt a horse?
Not long at all. Once you express interest in a horse, we ask you to visit and meet and/or ride the horse of interest. Then you would be given an adoption application which needs approval from the barn manager as well as the board of directors. Bringing the horse home is the simple part!
Will you be available to answer questions that I may have after adoption.
Without a doubt. We’re actively involved with our adopters to make sure that they and our horses live happily ever after.
